My Creative Skills

After having to suspend our face-to-face sessions in March 2020 due to COVID 19, we adapted to deliver online sessions to continue to support and strengthen our community despite the physical distance.

If you or someone you know might be interested in joining these online sessions, please email Laura at

Go to our virtual exhibition to see the amazing work this group have produced.

My Creative Skills is a project which allows amazing, strong women to come together, learn new skills and develop friendships and a network of support. Not only do we use the sessions to create art, we also use them as a space to talk to each other, provide each other with support and advice and develop friendships.

Thanks to the University of Greenwich, a civic university that is committed to working with local communities in south east London, we have been able to continue to run our sessions online and deliver art materials to participants.

We have even had new members join us during this time and we are always happy to welcome new women to the group.

Community Arts & Crafts

"I learned a lot about other members in the group + how the Chinese New Year is celebrated, what 'bunting' is and how to make it, how to create (and how to spell) mosaic, how to design a cross-stitching pattern, a lot of useful paper craft techniques that I will definitely use in the future, brushed off my crocheting skills and learned how to write a poem. And the list could go on."

"Creating Ground is the most beneficial therapy that you can never have anywhere else, it's your own space, you are respected, they listen to you, you are never judged, you don't stop laughing."

"Learning new skills from different women of different cultural backgrounds, race and religion and helping to improve integration into the society."
